Questions from a Tribal newbie

(Sorry if this is not the right sub-forum, was a little unsure where to put this.)

New to Tribal, picked it up on a whim when North Star got it in (at least its a game I can't blame the dice!).

Going to look at picking up enough prehistoric figures to cover myself and any potential opponent at my club, but will probably proxy some figures in the short term.

Not played a game yet, even solo, but some random questions that popped into my head.

1. I get the "front of base to rear of base" movement,  but when placing more than one card (Sprint, for example), do you place a card, move, place a card, move OR place two cards, move?

2. I know it will depend on lots of things (skills, heroes etc), but how many units should I roughly be looking at fir 10, 15 and 20 pts?

3. I thinking of using a roughly playing-card sized multi base, where you can 'pop' models in or out of for units. Does anyone know of anything like this (physical or STLs)?

Always nice to see someone else getting in to Tribal!

My little group went with Tribal and the Primeval supplement to recreate conflicts between various hominids. Homo Sapiens, Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Heidelbergensis and Homo Floresiensis to be precise.

In answer to your questions

1. We lay two and move - but provided all players do the same I'm not sure it matters which option you choose.

2. Since our group went with 15mm figures and opted for a "more figures than you could ever get on the table" approach I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer :-)

3. I have some irregular shaped MDF multi-figure bases for my 15s which I got from Warbases. A company I heartily recommend.

I got really into Tribal/Primeval a few years ago.  Instead of using the cards for movement, I made up sticks for the different lengths.  I preferred the look.

@ithoriel - helps a bit, I shall check them out.

@NickNascati - that sounds like a plan, especially given that cards can (sometimes) be fiddly to pick off the table, especially if you're a compulsive nailbiter like me!
