Pirate raid - a Three Musketeers scenario
« on: June 12, 2023, 03:24:06 AM »
A few weeks ago we put on a pirate raid game using Pikeman's Lament.  The scenario was a raid on the seaside chateau of Bridget Bardot by a three different pirate forces - Ottoman's, Barbary pirates and a force of European buccaneers (all of whom just happened to show up at the same time).  The objective was to defeat the Three Musketeers and a force of Scottish mercenaries then capture Miss Bardot and seize as much loot as possible.  My force (the Ottoman's) entered the board nearest to the chateau and after taking a number of casualties were actually able to enter it before being driven out by the Scots and the musketeers.  Meanwhile the Barbary's entered on the opposite side of the board and due to a lack of defenders were able to capture a significant amount of loot (they won the game in terms of loot captured).  After successfully defending the chateau from the Ottomans the good guys decided to make a break for it and after fighting their way through the buccaneers were able to escape to safety.

Leader duel.  The Count of Monte Cristo makes short work of the buccaneer leader (he also killed the Ottoman commander).

A very colourful and exciting sounding game, Mikos  :).  Looks great.

Who makes the mailed Ottoman leader who was in charge of the Azabs on the high ground?  A lovely figure.

Thanks for the kind words.  That figure is made by Foundry and is part of the Indian Mutiny line.  I believe he is one of the Armed Characters.

Ah yes, of course! I remember the figure now.  Thanks for clarifying.

The figure labeled Pegleg Pete is a Long John silver figure.

The Barbary Pirates won because they got the most loot, which was their objective.  Not killing other forces.  He who loots and runs away, lives to loot another day!

Great game all around.

Looked like great fun.  What are the odds that many factions of pirates - er, privateers - would show up the same day !
