Hello Lead Adventurers! We're launching a Kickstarter for a new set of tabletop "big skirmish" rules on July 17. Plus we've got tons of new 30mm scale miniatures inspired by sci-fi of the late 60s and early 70s. Just thought I'd let you know in case this is your bag!

Check it the Star Schlock kickstarter here when it goes live.

Star Schlock Kickstarter , it's going to be a blast!

The figs look really good, I liked the last lot too but never got around to getting any.

Are they on 25mm slotter bases?

If so they look huge, I guess it's they way of things nowadays :(

Yeah, I love that they have the build of 60s–70s people and actors but looks 40mm-ish, drat, drat, and double drat.  Actual 28s would have so much conversion potential.

Good luck with the project though!

Whoah whoah whoah! Hold up fellas! These are 28mm figures. We use smaller 20mm bases for some figures so they can fight in the close quarters of space stations and starport back alleys. Our space apes are a bit beefier and come on 25mm bases. These are tabbed figures that fit into plastic slotta bases, so you are free to use any base size you'd prefer. :)

Ahh, phew!  28mm toe-to-eye or top of head?

Beefy apes are always appropriate, being apes and all.

Gave a mention on the Reaper KS forum, and Beasts of War KS forum!

KS lists this project as First Created when you've done a previous KS. Might want to clarify how many you've done?

I should clarify, these are closer to 30mm scale. We scaled them to match the size of a variety of sci-fi figures that were available five years ago (Colony 87, Reaper, GW, etc.). Figure size seemed to vary quite a bit (even within the same line), so we chose a human height of 30mm (to eyeline) that looked right among a wide variety of figures.

Since starting the line a large number of sci-fi lines (like Stargrave) have been released. A typical Star Schlock human male is half a head taller than the ubiquitous Stargrave plastics that are widely available now. I think the difference is negligible and imperceptible on the game table, but I want to be absolutely clear about what you would be getting.

Apes, aliens, robots, etc. are of varying height, but I figure there's more leeway in regards to strange denizens from across the cosmos!

Thanks for spreading the word! I think Kickstarter tracks the number of projects created automatically, so hopefully it will update on Monday when the new Kickstarter launches.

Best way to be clear is to call them 30mm then.

For those of us who still mix older 25s with 28s, 30s are quite perceptibly taller on the table.

I find it very aggravating to have to dig around so much to find out what size figures are if I haven't seen them in person, or to forget to check and then buy some alleged 28s only to be snookered by larger figures.

We've just unlocked the Coalition Guard. I think they're pretty neat :). You can check them out on our Kickstarter.

A great looking campaign. The last KS hit when my finances were a bit tight. We will have to see about this one and if I decide to divert some funds from other projects. Depends on my project clearout sales I suppose.

Without a doubt I am checking each day to see what gets revealed.

To help with scale, I saw these two photos from the first KS. I am curious if these can bridge the gap between 28mm Stargrave minis and 32mm Bombshell & Hydra minis. It would be great to see a photo comparison with those brands.

Thanks for posting our size comparison photos Grumpy Gnome! I've got some Stargrave figures on hand, but we're heading to convention today and won't be able to take photos at the moment. I'll try to rustle up some Bombshell minis while I'm there to see if I can get you a proper comparison photo soon!

I backed the first KS and can vouch for the quality of the castings. They have a terrific fun factor to them as well.

I have used the Schlockosphere skellies in spacesuits in some of the Quarantine 37 Stargrave scenarios. Size-wise they work fine.
