Greetings

This forum has given me just the right combination of encouragement and pressure to make good progress on my  Waterloo Napoleonic collection. I am now hoping for the same for some side projects in the Sci-Fi domain. Below are smaller projects that have been on my to-do list for a long time - often years. These are all "bite-sized" and exclude the massive projects that would take months to resolve. I will mark completed projects in green as we make progress.

Please select a project, write a comment naming it, and I will work on completing it. And of course show pictures after. We will do this sequentially in the order of comments. Let's go!

Warhammer 40k
Eldar - rebase my old army
Eldar - repaint tanks (Falcon, Wave Serpents, Night Spinner, Fire Prism)

VOTING IS CLOSED (for now)

Thanks. Epic it is. I will tackle the Titans. Let me dig up what I have and then we can figure out what to do with them :). Stay tuned.

Okay, a box was dug up :). The models are a mix of "rectangular" Epic 40k era style and the "rounded" original style. I will go with the rectangular ones for now. In that style I have 1 Warlord, 2 Reavers and 4 Warhounds. Plus an assortments of weapons.

The next question is paint scheme. The Titan force could be fielded in support of my Imperial Guard (grey with red accents), Salamander Space Marines (dark green with red accents), or Adeptus Mechanicus (orange with blue accents). Sampler below for reference. Any suggestions for paint scheme?

I think grey will be a bit boring, but I maybe I can pull off a grey-green look contrasting a bit with a dull white-gold. That will be it for the "rectangular" legion (1 Warlord, 2 Reaver, 4 Warhounds). I also assembled the "rounded" legion (1 Warlord, 2 Reavers) and will try classic red on them for variety. Younger me magnetized all the weapons and after some repairs everything just got a black basecoat. Progress...

Alright, here is my offering for the day. A prototype model for the "rounded" Legio. I went with Legio Honorum in their class red scheme. This will be replicated on the other Reiver and "beetle-back" Warlord. I will add markings and other embellishments once all three are ready. The photo doesn't really pick up the "mottled" red scheme from stippling different layers. Looks much nicer in person and gives the very old sculpt some texture. The "rectangular" Legio needed too much green staff repair work to get painted today (cursed Forgeworld models...).

Between this, the Steam Tank on the Fantasy list and the battalion of Nassau Line for the "main" thread, the day feels reasonably productive.

That looks great. I’ve got that model, but I much prefer your paint job than mine - might tempt me to revisit and add some more to mine.

Thanks for the kind words. I am now done with the first of the two Titan maniples. I give you old school Legio Honorum.

The paintjob is fairly basic and the bases even simpler. In both cases I am constrained by having everything fit into my 15+ year old EPIC armies.

Work has started on the larger maniples from Legio Tempestus in grey.

And here we have Legio Tempestus. First maniple has a Warlord and two Reavers. Second maniple with four Warhounds. In grey as requested, though I went slightly more blue-ish than my Imperial Guard to add some colour contrast. One side project done!

Voting is open again. What's next?

The titans look great! Are the Warhounds from Forgeworld?

Thanks. They are indeed from Forgeworld. That said, I bought them around 20 years ago so I have no idea if they are still available.
