Triplett's Virginia Militia at Cowpens
« on: July 27, 2023, 07:01:30 AM »
My Tripletts Virginia Militia at Cowpens.

The VA Militia that fought at Cowpens was not an ordinary, rag tag militia regiment.
It was laced with Ex Continentals and Waxhaws survivors.
For the most part the were uniformed.

Morgan trusted these men and aligned them with the Continental Regulars at the battle.

Kings Mountain figures and one home made flag and one GMB flag,  I think?

After these photos were taken, I replaced the stars and stripes type flag.
I was not happy with the way it looked and it just didn't fit right.

Kingsmt, going through the pages on this board, it is clear to me that you have got to be the most prolific painter here! Man, you pump out units like a rabbit pumps out babies!!!  Really, how many hours a day do you paint? I lost my painting mojo for a long time...10 years or so... but finally am slowly getting back into it. I wish I had your discipline.  Great figures!

mjkerner,  Sorry to say this, but I did not paint all these figures.
I'm a terrible figure painter.
But I am a pretty good terrain maker. Notice the bases!

So early on, I worked trades out with a lot of different painters.
I generally traded them terrain pieces for painting services.
And that's how I got all of these figures painted.

I still do that till this day, although sometimes I just pay the going rate.

Here is an example of a piece that got traded for some painting work.

Lol, no wonder you did so many units so quickly! And yes, your terrain is great. In fact, I already have those 3 pix of the outcropping/hill in my terrain folder that I keep with pix from the net of neat terrain pieces. I maybe even grabbed them from this thread, although I'm thinking maybe it was from TMP?? Anyway, great stuff! I plan to steal your design, maybe making it a bit wider. Thanks!
