Irish Saga Dice Synbols to Print?
« on: 28 August 2023, 08:05:08 AM »
Hi Chaps,

Does anyone happen to have a link to where I can print out some Irish Saga dice symbols please? I seem to be collecting dark age figures for Saga but I am toying with the idea of sabot bases so that I can use them for Hail Caesar. I game solo so its not a quick project, has anyone else used the warbases sabot idea?

Thanks for any links or tips I would be interested to see what people have done.

Bottom left are indeed irish (and scots and picts). You want three snakes, two geese and one elk per die.

Bottom left above are more Pictish than Irish. Try these, courtesy of George Bain.

Thanks very much indeed for the help Guys, I have the Anglo Dane and Viking dice made in a similar way. Once varnished they do feel suitably dark age, I feel like I can now start painting the Irish.

Sounds like an order at our local country butcher.....
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

If anyone wants some special dice made in bronze (or silver if you can afford it), I am happy to make any you like.  My work is making Celtic jewelry…dice would be a snap, as well as any sort of coins or markers.
