[Swiss Army] Battle Of Nancy
« on: September 06, 2023, 08:11:51 AM »
I complete my thematics medieval armies with swiss for the Battle of Nancy.
How to recognize a Swiss in this battle :
  • He was heavely armored with the loot on Granson and Morat (before those battles he didn't wear armor or juste light ones
  • he didn't have the traditionnal flags and Banners : the swiss fought as mercenaries and not for their own. It's why the banners are différents

As allways you can find my banners i use on my blog for free : https://flagspennonsandbanners.blogspot.com/2023/05/burgundian-wars-lorraine-banners-nancy.html

Your flags will look even more betterer if you paint the edges.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Poulppy, very nice.  Those Perry figures look just the part. I started my own Swiss army but sold it when I realised it was about 8 years away from the painting table. I have to say I agree with Fierce Kitty's flag comment. It only takes a minute or two per flag and does make a big difference to the final look of the unit. I looked at your blog and it is an excellent source for anyone building a Swiss army.

Lovely painted miniatures! Painting the edges of the flags would do them justice.

Reminds me, that I still have some Swiss to paint myself.
