I wasn´t sure where to post it. My first attempt of painting lighting effects other than the normal daylight on miniatures. Hope you like it...

I have only ever seen this "point of source lighting" effect done well one or twice. Almost always it looks like an explosion in a chalk factory. Not a fan, sorry.

Essentially, you need to do alot more reserch here.

Best to satrt with some simply google-fu. I typed in "dramatic lighting" and was rewarded by several examples of point source lit pictures.

Essentially, your model looks like its got a corrosion problem.

I thought for a first go it was quite effective and certainly something I would never do,

keep practicing, Kevin Dallimore, whose book I read every time I need to try something new or refresh, says you need to do this excercise in a kill or cure mode so you need to do 100 at once  :D

keep it up  :)

I for one think you can be very proud over that outcome, Michi. I am a rather more practical guy myself, and not an avid fan of Comic book effects, but I still appreciate a man skilled in the arts. Cudos!

I think that the effect is quite good on the base and the 3 lower figures but there something’s off with the main character and I can’t quite tell what is it…
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/
