Yesterday we dug out the old DAK Attack rules as we had new recruits ready to attack behind enemy lines.

We had 5 British patrols planned to attack an axis airfield and train goods area in the western desert.

Target for today.

Unfortunately one British patrol got lost in the desert and never made it to the rendezvous (James was busy and couldn’t make the game )
Myself and Ian attacked the airfield at the southern part of the table.
Sam and Dave attacked the goods yard and airfield parameter from the northern part of the table.
This all occurred in the early hours, whilst German troops rested.
Here you can see cards showing areas where German troops MAY be based.

Ian with force D sped across the lower section of the airfield, taking out the first Stuka with his machine gun.

The Germans were now up and ready for a fight.
Ian’s boys started to take some return fire from Germans in their foxholes.

I too was taking out aircraft with my force A.

My boys entering the airfield, lower right.

In the northern sector, Dave’s boys were speeding through the town, on the way to their objective.

Sam with force E, was entering the battle, as he raced into the goods yard.

Sam then opened up with everything he had.

Those oil drums and railway wagons showed no resistance whatsoever

Back to the real fighting, and on the airfield Ian’s boys were in a spot of bother.
His lead jeep with Cpl Jones and Sgt Wilson onboard had been hit, and Stg Wilson was dead.

My lead jeep from Force A then raced over to pick up the injured Cpl Jones, but my supporting truck was then destroyed by gunfire from the airfield defenders. What a disaster.

So as we started taking casualties, I decided to get the heck out of there…obviously gunning up any remaining material I could see around me.

We left chaos in our wake, and the airfield and goods yard in a terrible state

Oh how we laughed as we passed the German/Italian patrol that was just returning.

Good game, played in the right spirit, and enjoyed by all (I hope).
Thanks to Pete for umpiring and running the defenders.
Thanks also to my fellow raiders, Dave, Sam and Ian.
James, sorry you couldn’t make it.
