This is looking great and is going to be amazing when finished.

I noticed your wooden window outlines look, for all the world, like wooden letter B's. I may peak into the hobby shop and check out their stock of wooden letters and see if the B's or any other letters might make for good window framings...  :D

It has been a while since I have been able to work on this build but a long weekend allowed me to finally finish the first staircase. This will finish the unfortified portion of the lamasery, which I intend to use by itself in certain games. I will still have a few gaps to finish and some minor stabilizing but otherwise everything is ready for painting.

,,,and with some inhabitants.

The unfortified portion of the lamasery painted. I was going for a "granite" effect. I am not sure how effective it was.

That worked a treat!  Very nice work.

I have finally got some more of my building mojo back and have started this project back up. I credit Vagabond and his posts for his upcoming China Station board ala Bob Murch. This lamasery was always planned to be a fortified hill top installation. So..... on with the hill top. The first step was to glue in an anchor block to anchor the already constructed lamasery base.

Then, there were the major cuts to create and expand the hillside base.

Finally, the fortifications temporarily in place.

Next all the cork needs to be glued together with some minor spackling, and anchor blocks glued in place to anchor the fortifications.

That is going to look awesome in the true meaning of the word when it's all complete. The stone texture and painted colour looks great, I think our granite might be greyer but it does look dour, yours is much better.

I'd offer to race you to the finish line with the buildings but I'd be giving you a two month start and now you've got going again you need to keep at it.  :D
Cheers

Work continues, but slowly. The base has been glued together and the major gaps spackled.

The side walls are under construction.

Here with the central Lamasery in place.
