The amends are not separate sets of rules but articles with amends etc in the lardy magazine specials. Not sure which Sharply buffed is in (ECW and earlier) but I understand its all there, you should be able to find something in the lardy store for the old Christmas specials etc or go to the lardy forum and ask, lots of good folk on there to point you in the right direction.

I’ve been wondering what rules would work also. I’m sorely tempted by the gorgeous Perry 40mm Border Rievers, even though it seems a bit light on cavalry options. I guess I’m just looking for an excuse to buy them. This would be a new period for me and I don’t know what rules are out there.

You can always get Flags of War STL's and print them at 40mm!

Altius, before you "go" 40mm remember that for Border Reiving you will almost certainly need animals for raiding parties to steal and perhaps some period buildings such as a Bastle house or cottages/crofts. I've never seen any of the "supporting cast" of stuff in 40mm but that doesn't mean it isn't out there!

40mm cattle available as O gauge I have some for my 40mm peninsular. Also a goat buy irregular but their other stuff is not great.

If I did decide to take the leap, I’d probably build my own bastle house and other terrain pieces. I like making terrain. Ive made table-sized urban areas for various periods in the past, and a bastle house doesn’t seem to be a very complex piece of architecture.

The bottom line for me is that the Perry figures are gorgeous. So gorgeous that I’d like to have an excuse to paint them. The thing that gives me pause is the lack of cavalry, which is a bit of a handicap for the period.

Altius, well, you won't be the 1st person to get into a gaming period solely on the basis of loving a range of figures. I think I have several gaming projects that started like that and most have ended up on the table. My big issue is normally finding a war or period of history that fascinates me and then my mates not wanting to play it .I nearly bought armies for the Pacific War of 1879-84 and currently have a near-obsession with the Wars of the Glorious Revolution.

Am a particular fan of En Garde (arrived there via Ronin, for samurai fights).  Another possibility is Feudal Patrol  which, despite its title, is also quite usable for Elizabethan period engagements (because includes matchlocks, latch crossbows, wheellock pistols) with no necessary adaptations.  This was used at a convention my son Charlemagne and I attended a few months back for a samurai battle where units were 5 - 8 figures, and each side had 4 or 5 units.

'Never mind the Billhooks Deluxe' has a section on the Anglo-Scottish wars of the C15-16th. It's aimed at the large skirmish-small battle type of game (80-100) figures).

Chaps, I may be buying both En Garde and Billhooks Deluxe for different reasons. I have a large collection of Redoubt 3 Musketeer figures and reckon En Garde may be good for that genre, whilst I tried the original Billhooks for Wars of the Roses last year, quite liked it but just never got round to buying the deluxe version.
