We kicked off our What a Cowboy campaign yesterday, where Curly Billy's gang will face the Pinkertons hired by wealthy rancher Frederick Broadstone.

There is bad blood between Billy and Broadstone and in the first game Billy's gang has kidnapped Broadstone's bookkeeper and taken him to Bad man's cabin high in the mountains.

Curly Billy managed to hold on to the bookkeeper after a game where so many bullets were dodged, it began to look like an A-team episode :D

All characters survived so stay tuned for part 2 of their adventures.

Great report and it sounds like a fun game.  Is it me or does the bookkeeper model look like Roy Orbison?

Thanks!
Aha, you noticed it. The bookkeeper is in fact an ancester of Roy: Chester Orbinson. Good at bookkeeping but a lousy singer I'm afraid. :D

Part 2: High Noon in Dry Gulch Canyon

Curly Billy and his gang are trying to escape through Dry Gulch Canyon. Broadstone's men have cut them off however and a showdown in the canyon ensues.

Curly Billy's gang manages to chase off the Law again. Although one of the lawmen is badly wounded all characters are still alive.

Maybe the third time will be the charm for our somewhat less-than-intrepid lawman...

And good ol' One-Armed Snake ought be glad.  Most snakes don't have any arms... :D

In any event, nicely done.  Particularly if you're a fan of Curly Billy and Co. ...

Part 3: Ambush at the livery

Curly Billy and his gang are again trying to evade the Law. Their stagecoach has to exit the opposite edge of the table. But the Law is waiting for them near the livery.

Carnage ensues and both sides lose men dead.

Using almost all Desperado cards and Bonanza tokens to stay in the fight, Curly Billy's gang (well half of it actually) succeed in driving the stagecoach off table and win the game.

Nice little fight.  Curly Bill, etc. got lucky.  But my wife would tell that the only good snake is a dead one... :o

Another lucky run for Curly Billy and his gang.
They raid the silver mine and manage to send the Pinkertons packing in only a few turns.

Losing several action dice at the start of the game limited the reactions of the Pinkertons while Curly Billy's gang got lots of wild dice, allowing them to gun down the Pinkertons.

Although they moved randomly through the crossfire, no miners were harmed during this episode. :D

I fought the Law and the Law won!

Curly Billy's luck ran out when he tried to get away by train with the silver.

In a frantic shootout, nearly all characters were wounded and 3 were put out of action.

Eventually Curly Billy failed his "Ride or Die" test and limped away. All characters did survive, so they will return for the final showdown in the 6th and last game of the campaign.
