The Atlantis campaign Part 2
« on: February 27, 2008, 08:26:52 AM »
I've got part two for the Atlantis campaign up on my blog.

http://ironworkersminiatures.blogspot.com/

There's much more action than in part one.  If you missed part one just scroll down to the post below and read that first.

Here are some teaser pics.

Enjoy!

P.S.  I know I've got some bad spelling errors.  I'll try to clean those up soon.  Both these reports were written very late at night and I was pretty tired.

Good looking figures but absolutely splendid looking rocks.

Are they primed grey then painted red, or primed red then painted grey ?

The ones overlooking the road look almost like a pile of slate, how did you do those ones ?

The small desert hills were primed grey first then drubrushed with the red then then yellows were sponged on then the top surfaces where drybrushed with tan then I put a wash over the whole thing.

The big rock is several years old.  It's made from styro insulation.  A friend of mine had a foam factory which has a wire cutter and foam sculpting tools we used to add the erosion and other features.  We also drove bamboo skewers through the layers to hold them in place.  My friend painted it but used a blue primer coat.  It doesn't show up at all during play but it really pops out when I photograph the hill in a negative way.  One of these days I'm going to take the time to clean up the spots where it shows.
