Gather your survivors, build your community, and battle the zeds!

County Road Z is a solo game of miniature tabletop combat and resource management, set during the zombie apocalypse. Scavenge materials to build watchtowers, workshops, generators and more, and then take it to the tabletop, where the zombies react to every grenade, shotgun, and scream! Combat zeds (and perhaps worse) across warehouses, graveyards, road wreckage, mansions and more.

Upgrade your base facilities and build new weapons and armor to keep your survivors safe for the next mission. Where will your next community base be? A distillery? A firehouse? A hydroelectric dam? Build your defenses bigger and better... but quietly, or the zombie horde will be at your door.

Build your own Apocalypse
Enjoy the End Times your way with the Apocalypse Toolkit, containing a multitude of optional rules including a variety of specialized zombies, advanced rules for firearms and vehicles, seasonal weather conditions, and your choice of apocalypse. Plug-and-play whichever options fit your playstyle, whether you favor complexity, ease of play, or a combination of both.

The 184-page full-colour royal size (15.6cm x 23.4cm) hardback includes:

A variety of apocalypse types, including Viral, Cosmic Horror, and Magic
16 different types of zombies
Road Trip campaign option
Character advancement rules
29 missions types
10 different base types
39 different facilities and upgrades

Sounds interesting. But it seems to need lots of different sceneries to built a long-term campaign. I will wait a complete tested review.

Looks interesting enough. But it's a fully solo book!  ???

I'd prefer for it to be co-op, but it might well be suitable for this, considering the Z's are controlled by the system already.

One to watch for sure...

Call me a cynic but it seems to me Modiphius is making a business model out of scouting through Wargames Vault to pick up cheap indy titles to produce their own expensive versions.
No dear, they are not toys, they are models

Interesting if expensive sounding.

Having just finished watching "I am a Legend" a few minutes ago, this sounds very interesting. I agree with Daeothar. It would be a fun co-op, too. I wonder how big your survivor gangs are? If they're suitably big, then players can run 2-3 figs per campaign. Definitely one to watch...

Since I do happen to have a decent set of terrain already built and painted.... this is more attractive to me. However, I def see how it might be a big buy-in for people just starting out. I'm happy to pick up a copy and play with my little guy on my team. He's 6 and LOVES zombies as much as his poppa, so a solo game is a nice way to start introducing him to TT games.
I bought the two versions of Zpocalypse, a boardgame on the same theme, home defense and resource management. This looks very interesting, but def sad to see the cost increase!
I have this version of the rules.... for 3,99... :o

Not sure if something changed, but this is what my cop says:

"COUNTY ROAD Z is a solo and cooperative tabletop miniatures game. Players create their starting team of Survivors and scavenge the rural areas of America, building a Community and fortifying a base of operations against the zombie horde. Players control human Survivors, and for now, the people have set aside their differences to fight against the Rot. Zombies are controlled by a simple AI, and they react to everything the Survivors do on the tabletop."

Been reading over the rules while on holiday, they look fun, esp for solo play. Will try to get this on the table sooner than later.

I would definitely be interested in hearing a report! Do you own either Five Parsecs or Five Leagues? Is it in line with those? I am more interested in co-op rather than solo. I have a fairly big and regular group of gamers. The combat system for the previous "5's" left me a little cold. I've been thinking of welding on the Wiley Games system (Fistful of Lead system or rules).

Does it seem like this might work for it?

Has anyone picked up the Modiphius preorder PDF and would be willing to share their thoughts?  All the reviews online seem to be for the (much less expensive) indie PDF version.

I have an interest, but committing to a $45USD preorder of a hardback just to look at the PDF is a big ask...

I just went online to order the book, but shipping was almost $30!! I think I will wait and see if anyone carries it here in the U.S.

Were you trying to order from their UK website (Modiphius.com), or their localized US webstore (Modiphius.us)?

If the former, the shipping from their US distribution node should be lower:
