The Great Escape

Taking my inspiration from a marvellous diorama I saw on the "28mm Victorian Warfare" blog, I want to build a "Great Escape" diorama. This will involve modelling a bit of the tunnel and I'd like to use LEDs to create a bit of lighting inside. The problem is I have no idea how to do this as I know next to nothing about LEDs.

Consequently, I was wondering if anyone could point me towards tutorials on the use of LEDs in modelling.

With LEDs, it is much much cheaper and easier to modify a finished product than to build it from scratch.

If you look in the shops that do home decoration you should find LED versions of Tealights.
You can use them as they are or you can cut out the working parts and build them into you diorama.

Alternatively you can buy a set os LED string lights with a battery pack like this - which may be better for the Great Escape.

The string lights can be cut down and will still work too.  If you want to do anything fancy like flickering lights you will need other components.

Incidentally, the battery powered fluorescent lights can also be cut and still work.  Not for this project but they do work.
