Skirmishing the '45?
« on: February 18, 2024, 02:06:22 PM »
I am strongly considering skirmishing the '45 for my next project.  Small scale games, a dozen or two figures per side tops.

My preference would be for 15mm as that is my usual war-games scale so I have a fair bit of the generic terrain, etc. 15mm also has the advantage of playing nicely on my two-foot square battle board. Otherwise I have a desk top to play on, about two feet by four feet, so not a huge space.

I am willing to consider other scales if I can find a range I like.

What I need are sources for nice figures with varied poses in small packs. Skirmish games really benefit from individuals, as opposed to the march attack I favor for massed battles. I have used Old Glory 15s, and Old Glory 25s for other projects, I like the figures and the economy is great for large battle forces. I don't need bags of 20-50 figures of a type for this project though.

What's out there for a US based gamer?  Any good buildings for the period?

One thought is to go the Miniature Page website and type in 15mm Jacobites.
I am sure you will find a number of sources listed.
