Eerde 1944 (Hell's Highway)
« on: 24 March 2024, 11:04:04 AM »
We played a Chain of Command scenario (Attack & Defend) my friend based on the fighting around Hell's Highway near Veghel. 101st Airborne, supported by 2 British Shermans against Fallschirmjäger supported by a Panther (historically a Jagdpanther, but the closest thing in my vehicle collection was a regular Panther).

The Germans managed to take out one Sherman with a panzerschreck team, but weren't able to hold off the paratroopers, losing the game with a force morale of zero.

Looks like a fun game.

I have to say though, being born and growing up in that area, you won't find any hills of that kind around at all. (outside of a few specific sand dune areas)

I know (born and grew up some distance southeast of this area). The area looks different today, but I guess  it looked probably somewhat like a smaller version of the Loonse & Drunense duinen.

My friend's scenery collection however is limited, hence the grassy "dunes".

Ik wilde hetzelfde zeggen :P De Loonse en Drunese Duinen zijn momenteel wel supernat so who knows.

Leuk scenario, ook eens een keer proberen in Battlegroup. Leuke reden om eens een Jagdpanther te schilderen.

And back to English: Nice scenario, looking forward to more :)
