Here's the Ruckus
« on: 16 April 2024, 02:23:06 PM »
With the release of Ruckus imminent in Wargames Illustrated 437 I thought I should write a blog concerning it's origins and development

https://wilgut.blogspot.com/2024/04/heres-ruckus.html
I have a bad case of prescient nostalgia. The future's not what it used to be.

Absolutely brilliant Mike  8)

I'm really pleased for you and for the set of rules as i know how bloomin' hard you and others have worked on them!

Plus they're Late Med. based so that's always a bonus! :)

yes indeed! I am not sure when but Wi have confirmed it....and Deluxe already exists! Ruckus has evolved in the other direction from Billhooks in that Billhooks was expanded to become deluxe wheres Ruckus had to be edited down to its current shape and size. Ruckus deluxe wont be called that and it won't have the same format as Billhooks.

Thee is also a "back burner " plan for English Civil Ruckus...

Great stuff Mike.
I’ve read it and like it. Am going to try to have a go.
Are WI going to sell printed card decks, as per Billhooks?

Mike mentions in the blog post about there being cards and counters so I’m guessing they’ll be handled by WI like the Billhooks ones.

Can't wait for it and now knowing that there's already something planned for adding Reisläufer and Landsknechte makes me all  8)

Also, if your daughter really puts the  Librarian into her retinue then that's some really beardy gaming and i highly approve  :D

may be an odd question, will this be a book free with mag or the rules are just in the mag itself? I assume the latter, but thought I'd check.

I think it’s a free booklet with the magazine. I’m sure WI did a very quick preview video on YouTube just before Salute.

Usually I get the pdf version (storage space is a bit premium here, with my miniatures stuff and my girl's knitting and crochet stuff...  ;)) but I think I'll hit up the FLGS and pick up a physical copy of this issue. Rules kinda read different on paper than on a screen.
