They look great. The more colorful the better I think.

The army is almost done. Only thing left are a few command bases that I hope to have ready next week. Here you have the new elephant. Unfortunately, the original ones have not yet found any to trample down. Apart from Macedonians the Indians don’t have that may opponent except themselves. There are also some armored elites with doublehanded weapons and skirmishers. I have made them from regular spearmen and just swapped some weapons.

Hopefully the entire army will be ready for presentation here next week.

Cheers
Eriks

Impressive and beautiful collection you have there. I have a 10mm army that I've yet to paint but these are inspirational and tempting me to put some paint on my bare lead...

Really nice stuff! Apologies if you've said before and I missed it, but where are those elephants from? They look fantastic! :D

Well here is the final army in all its poorly photografed glory. It includes 80 warriors with spear, 20 armoured warriors with doublehanded weapons, 80 bowmen, 24 skirmishers, 48 cavelry, 4 heavy chariots, 4 light chariots and 6 elephants, 3 command bases and 4 heroes. Except for the commanders and heroes everything is mounted on 6x4 cm bases. Mostly with 5 miniatures to a base and 3 to skirmishers.

Everything is 3D printed from Scropha Miniatures (you can find them on Myminifactory) and almost all painting is contrast paints.

Work is already well on the way on a worhty opponent Macedinions/Successors. That means lost of phalanx pikemen. As soon as I have enough we will fight a massive battle using To the Strongest ruleset.

Cheers

That’s a great looking army! For what it’s worth, I think the photography is just fine, it shows them off well.

This looks absolutely fantastic! I have recently been having decent success with contrast paints (actually AP Speedpaints but same thing) on my ACW Confederates, but the bright colours and radically different subject matter … this is gorgeous. I had never thought about this time period and now I most certainly am! Great work, truly.

I have decided to try and paint enough Macedonian pikemen to field a playable army for our Christmas TtS mega game.
I already have a lot of greeks from Victrix, so these will help flesh out the army. On top of that I had a single unit of Victrix pikemen from a DBA Selucid army a painted a few years back (I did a post about it but cant find it right now). I bought a couple more Victrix pikemen with transfers. These have been supplementet with 3D printed Macedonian pikemen. This unit has a really cool arrangements of pikes where the pikes are gradualy levelled from back to front. Its a nightmare to store them, but they look really cool. Most of the painting is once again contrast. I am going for speed over detail. The Victrix models did however get their eyes painted (blueshield guy looks a bit scared  lol), but thats it.

A am also working on some cavelry to bolster the army. I might even have time for som scenic camp stuff.

Excellent looking army, especially considering you were going for quick painting! Big blocks of pikemen always look impressive. You’ve got the heavy infantry anvil put together, add the heavy cavalry hammer and you’ll be set for games right up to the Roman republic’s eastern expansion.

Great looking phalanxes, I really like the shields! Are those decals (applied very smoothly on the curved surface) ?
...but my favourite is the guy with the ladybug parasol :)
