Funderland.... :D

Map looks right but the rides are all different, which is understandable.  I'll ask my aunt when I see her this weekend.   :)

Also could of been Fairy Tale Town.  right across the street....
anynays...back to exciting miniature stuff.

@ Manic: I'm sure you'll like them.  They're adorable but at the same time, deadly serious.
as you see below with my newly painted quar: Some Royalists.

The one in the smurf hat is supposed to be an NCO (or Yawdryl in Quar-ese).  He has an SMG.  All my other Yawdryls of this faction are waving swords about (like an good leader does) so to give this guy a sword I raided my plastic Gripping Beast Dark Ages bits.  This sword is from the Viking sprue.  I'm sure they won't mind.  They're a generous and forgiving people.

but more fun:
I've completed the base constuction of the great trench terrain boards.  each is 2x4, and here is a pic with the upcoming exciting features:

so the next natural step is to start adding the wooden planks to all the walls and trenches....

if this peaks your interest, there are more pics and bad jokes on the blog

Nice update on the terrain boards.
I also like the painting on your Quar.
My order arrived and they look great.Only one blister pack had bases. Also got another blister pack so only two more to go for the initial release.Got the starter game due soon.

Thanks Manic.

I do believe the earlier blister packs were sold without bases and the more recent ones now have bases included.
Also I think the older blisters were siocast or whatever and the newer ones are a better resin.

to be honest, it didn't matter to me because I use magnetic bases for my figures.
I hope you enjoy the quar.  recently a new addendum to the rules was released as well.  all can be had for free on the rhflyer website.

I recently hosted a 2v2 game at a local convention.  It went well.  people seemed to like the rules and the silly figures.

The set up:

some in action shots:

after I finish up this next batch of painting quar miniatures, I'm gonna nove over to some terrain.  I'm getting tired of playing 'This Quar's American Civil War."
 :) :)

That looks good, I did think you had particularly wiggly trench lines from the overhead view (yes they are ACW snake fencing).

Glad to hear they have changed the material, I did find the original resins hard to work with (mine are still waiting for basing...).

I use Renedra 25mm flat round bases, blended in with Milliput.

 Great looking table and miniatures.
I will be interested to see what terrain you come up with for your games.
Got 12 Crusaders from the starter set all glued together now. Also the three blister packs to go with them are done. This morning i have cleaned the bodies off of the Coftyran and glued them together and onto bases.Heads have also been cleaned off and just the weapons to sort out Tomorrow they they will be completed.
Managed to order two packs of the trench raiders to go with the gun blister pack and only need to get the Officer pack to complete the initial release.
A box of each faction miniatures will also be on the list to expand the forces.

Thanks guys.  And I do hope you’ll enjoy your own Quar adventures.
I find the assembly of the plastic figures to be….fiddly.
The best order I have found is bodies, arms, head, backpack, and then anything else.  😀

Quar are going to be an excellent opportunity for some scratch building terrain.  After some ubiquitous generic fences that aren’t snake style, I have ideas for large termite / ant hills, bug boxes, and might even try my hand at a house.  After all, I have all this foam and a Hotwire cutter.

Painting update Coming soon for any interested.
See you soon.

I like the paths - is it cork by any chance?

The thin cork around here is normally rolled with the flat being tiles with chunky lumps of cork glued together.

Thanks all. 😀

@Andrew.  The roads are purchased from Wargamer’s Terrain.
 I don’t think they’re cork but it’s a very nice product.

Hi again!

If anyone is interested in the rules for Quar, you can find a VERY detailed walk through on me blog...
https://tllw.blogspot.com/2024/09/this-quars-war-play-through-aar.html

It's not the prettiest post: but it will run you through the core mechanics.
