A Pagoda for Burma
« on: 05 June 2024, 06:21:09 AM »
With the Far East a popular theatre at the moment following the publication of the Far East Handbook for Chain of Command, it was appropriate to ask the question, when is a pagoda not a pagoda? When it's a stupa, of course. Mystified? I surely was, but once I knew what I was after I was able to go about building an appropriate pagoda for my Burma games. Full details on how I did it here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2024/06/a-pagoda-for-burma.html

Brilliant idea, and exactly the right look for Burma. I have been looking for model Pagodas for a long time, but as you say they are all Japanese style. I will be shamelessly stealing your idea for my 15mm games

This is excellent - and as you say very timely with the Far East Handbook. I expect I'll also steal the idea...

Excellent work! :-* :-*

Just goes to prove that there's no such thing as a stupa question.

Is it very wrong that I look at those acrylic models stupas and think, "big Flash Gordon death rays"?
Back from the dead, almost.

Yes but arguably better than thinking 'Madonna, upper body wear circa 1990'. ;)

Great piece of scatter terrain and has a whole lot of uses than just White City and the Chindits.  Wonderful.  :-* :-*

Believe it or not, we saw this very Burmese-looking chedi from the train between Vienna and Krems a month or two ago.
