A quiet and peaceful morning in Dead Man's Gulch, it's been like that for a while these days. Sheriff Slim Pickens takes the opportunity for an early morning break in Madam Bovery's. He's happy to leave Stumpy in the jail watching the bandit Tuco in the cells. Two Texas Rangers have just arrived to take the desperado for trial. Slim happily accepts a shot of Red Eye from The gold prospector, who's in town to celebrate his strike.
All's peace and harmony...

Snake Eyed Pete and his myrmidons begin slithering into town. They've a passal of choices as to why...

Kill the gold prospector and nick his loot
Kill Sheriff Pickins
Free Tuco from the chokey


This bright idea of mine should be born in mind, in the mayhem wot pans out!


Septimus M Barme is the first Gulcher to spot the ner do wells, and smiles, delightedly. Business has been scarce of late, he cajoles his underling, Igor, to work faster!

Oblivious to development Slim drops his strides and pays Delores a visit. Gormless Deputy Dorg ambles on on his stroll around town. It's the last thing he does, Snake Eyed Pete back shoots him, sprints up and empties his Colts into the luckless deputy. The shooting galvanises the town back to life, townsfolks dive for cover, the Bank Manager loads his scattergun, the Texas Rangers move out of the jail a confused Stumpy gimping after them.
Luckily for the Gulchers The Ranger Captain is the legend 'Boss' McCall.

Gunfire erupts up and down main street, a shotgun blast puts the Bank's windows through. Another baddie opens fire on the prospector, Slim stumbles from Dolores arms, and has to dodge hot lead! 'Boss' McCall takes decisive action, sprinting around the backstreets, Despite almost falling over Doc Pearson the Lawdogs give a baddie a bellyful of lead poisoning. The prospector cocks his Winchester, proving he's more than able, killing a bandit from the whorehouse veranda. The second Ranger moves onto mainstreet and takes on the outlaws, killing one straight away. Snake Eyed Pete spots the hated, and feared Ranger badge and takes a lethal revenge.
At this juncture I've got to admit to a certain confusion in the forces of law and order. The Bank's under fire, the prospector and Slim are under fire. An admission of my confusion was met by a classic Dunderhead response....


"I've got no idea wot's 'appening, your plan's got me, this time!"

"Wot Plan?"

"Yer mission!" The one on the bit of paper I gave you at the start!"

"Oh that, I totally forgot about it, I'll come up with summat in a minute!!!"

Luckily the roar of the sixguns masked my scream of frustration!

The 40 Watt bulb that passes for a Dunderhead's brayn flickers into life!
Realising there's no one in the jail Snake Eyed Pete sprints for it. A baddie caught in the open grabs a lady as cover, the unfortunate women stopping one from Stumpy's shotgun. The prospector leans over the railing and gives the bandit one right through the top of his melon! 'Boss McCall' guns down another bandit. All to no avail, shooting the cell lock off Snake Eyed Pete legs it with Tuco, leaving his gang to their fate.
The surviving gang members high tail it for the hills, as the still bemused Sheriff Pickins wanders down the street. The forces of law and order still blissfully unaware they've been humiliated yet again!

Seems like 'ole Snake Eyed is going to have some serious explainin' to do when the rest of the gang catches up to him - well, the survivors anyway.

The last strains of 'Gathering at the River' echo around Dead Man's Gulch Boothill cemetery, as a grim faced Captain McCall, strides back to the Marshal's office. Turned to Slim and said.


"This has been the biggest deebacle since Fetterman!"


Slim concurred, Stumpy being despatched to the telegraph office to summon more Rangers for a posse. Sheriff Pickens and Ca'n McCall meet them on the trail and begin the hunt. Predictably it leads them to the Rio Grande River. Snake Eyed Pete and his desperadoes have wisely legged it over the border. Cap'n McCall's posse know they're in the village of Aguade Verde. Slim tells him sadly...


"That's an end of it Cap'n they're beyond our jurisdiction."


"Not today they're not! Growls McCall.


"I rode with Ranger Woodrow for nigh on ten year. He saved my life twice in fight's with Buffalo Hump's Commanche. His killers are there, move out boys."


The posse cross the Rio Grande and quietly filter into  Aguade Verde. Their prey are in the Canteena, they close in...


Game wise, Snake eyed Pete's gang are all well Tequila oiled, starting the game with one wound. Sykes, a former gang member, now owner of the Canteena is jober as a sudge, but old and past his prime. He's just coming out of the outhouse. The bunch have bribed two locals with a bottle of tequila to lookout. daft idea they're well pissed and asleep! On a D10 they need a roll of 10 to do their job. Both roll, 4 and a 10!

I'm loving this figure for Captain 'Boss' McCall, love to claim him as all my own werk! But this tremendous Lawman was painted by our very own Orctrader.

McCall looks great - for a little blue box with a white border and a white question mark in the center.  Afraid that's all I'm seeing.

A.  Lovely report on the shootout in town.  Did Tuco's men have any words with him?

B.  I can't see the pic of Mccall either.  But I am waiting to see how that fight goes...
