Does anyone make a proper Gorgon in 28mm?

You know, thick legs, boar tusks, brass wings, etc.? Don't think I've ever seen one.

Not sure. I do remember as a kid purchasing this gorgon from tin soldier miniatures and it is still in production. Although now it is labelled minotaur and doesn't fit the style you are after.

Ah, yes - I have that! It's a D&D-style 'gorgon', which would be better described as a khalkotaur. Basically, Gygax followed Edward Topsell's History of Four-Footed Beasts, probably via a US book on monsters published in the late 60s, which described the khalkotaur but calls it a gorgon.

If you're looking for a Medusa-like mini, go to www.etsy.com, you will find many.  :)

Thanks - but I had a look earlier, and they all seem to be either Harryhausen-style snake creatures or D&D-style snake-haired ladies. The truly monstrous Archaic Greek Gorgon appears absent!

This is the kind of thing I'm looking for. I might have to kitbash one - perhaps using a GW savage orc as the starting point or something.

You might find a suitable base mini if you look for 28mm female orc.

Savage orc sounds like a good start. I imagine feathered wings would be best as well rather than leathery bat wings. Perhaps angel wings from Reaper might be worth a look https://www.reapermini.com/search/angel%20wings/latest/03181

I found my original Gorgon I bought when I was very young. I chopped the horns off for a conversion on something else. When I came across Tin Soldier again at a later date I bought a new one. Maybe I'll find some new horns for the old one, then I can have a pair of them.

it's been stated repeatedly, NOT a Harryhausen one, a traditional Greek Myth one...

Hobgoblin Junior could make something suitable, I am sure?

Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
