Are you talking about the minimax that you use on wood floors?

Sort of.  There's a specific Minwax polyurethane finish line for floors.   Usually you stain first then use the floor poly.

Minwax Polyshades is a similar product but it combines the stain and Poly in one.  The idea is a quicker application for smaller projects.

I’ve tried MinWax vs Army Painter, and, for me, the Army Painter was superior. Better shading, more consistent, and brushing on was fine. I don’t “dip”.

Despite the cost difference, I would stand by Army Painter.

I've heard that from some folks and some folks are pretty sure it's basically the same product.  Minwax works well enough for me, and the tabletop results I'm going for. 

Haven't tried AP though, Never could bring myself to shell out 30 bucks for 8oz of finish....

Indeed. As can be seen in my tutorial, my painting standards aren't particularly high.  I have no trouble believing a different product might be better for someone shooting for a higher level of painting.

On the other hand, I don't know anyone with extremely high standards that dips....  😁

  Great blog post, Ive often passed minimax in the hardware store and wondered if it could be used on minis. I guess it really is the same thing as Armypainter.

Just to be clear, I like Polyshades, but I have no evidence that it's the same as AP. I do know it was used among wargamers long before AP Quick shade was introduced.
