I know about the French troops in shorts and Adrian helmet, having seen the WiP pic. The question is, will Michael do the same figures with tropical helmets ? Or at least a conversion pack of separate heads like he did for the Sikhs.

Always worth asking about  :).

anyway arthur, the french colonial helmet was not widely used  among free french, except in Gabon, and Tchad-southern Libya .

It seems to have been fairly common in Eritrea though :

The Bataillon d'infanterie de marine was issued with wolesley helmets

I'm familiar with the pic showing the BIMP in British sun helmets but the unit also received tin hats when it received its new British gear in 1940 :

It seems both were worn through 1941 depending on the circumstances.

it looks like wolseley helmets ...
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

the 2 others are

FG42 ...
Quote
code shown is Fallschirmjagers using the FG42. Originally, these weren't necessarily going to be made as they only just fit into the theatre war being covered, i.e. Italy, but it seems likely there might have been a few in use in Sicily so it was decided to make them. Obviously, they can be used up to the end of the war as well and an MG42 has been made so there will be a code of them too.

Could be. I'm not enough of an expert to tell the difference between Wolseley helmets and French tropical sun hats anyway.

I'll probably be branded a heretic for writing this but in 28mm the difference between the two models probably won't be very noticeable.

Back to the Perry range, it would be nice if Michael could be persuaded to do a couple of mounted spahis packs.

as he answered when i asked him about 2 command packs ( european officers and NCO's clean shaved in full regulation uniform, quite no SMG for the Vichy senegalese, more casual uniform, some beard, SMG for the Free French ... 2 packs ? ) for the senegaleses, :

there may well be more packs than customers by the end of the range!

i'm not sure they will be done this way ...
;) he planned 4 european Officers and NCo's , a bugler and an other senegalese code, and i suggested 2 european officers, an european and a native NCO, keep the bugler, and a medic ...
