All we need to do now is convince Michael Perry to do head swaps on the Senegalese to give them tropical helmets and Caucasian faces. Such figures would come in handy to depict the FFL and other French troops in the Eritrean and Syrian campaigns as the current Perry FFL figures are really Bir Hakeim types.

I know this has been suggested on the Perry FB page. Anyone knows if Michael has been receptive so far ?

No probs!

Received my latest order from Perries and I must say that whoever takes the miniatures out of the mould needs shooting. Every pole on the German stretchers was twisted back upon itself. The FJ are very nice and shows off the later garment hanging loose.

french troops in adrian helmet are in the pipeline ... ( and i suggested once more a french heads pack with a mix of heads : helmet, kepi, sidecap ) ...

michael seem's receptive, we have senegaleses without the f*cking coupe-coupe ...  ;)

You could add a FG42 Fallshirmjager pack to that list too... If they are intended for Italy too.

I know about the French troops in shorts and Adrian helmet, having seen the WiP pic. The question is, will Michael do the same figures with tropical helmets ? Or at least a conversion pack of separate heads like he did for the Sikhs.

i have tried from month to have a set of french alternative heads ... but they are so busy ...  ;)

anyway arthur, the french colonial helmet was not widely used  among free french, except in Gabon, and Tchad-southern Libya .
He was one of the head dresses worn by those heroic tramps ...
The Bataillon d'infanterie de marine was issued with wolesley helmets
13th DBLE mostly used the Adrian helmet or the british steel helmet in Syria ...

13th DBLE in Damascus , Officers and NCO's in side cap and colonial helmet, soldiers in british steel in the background .
