I really like the Gripping Beast Ragnarok armoured goblins. I keep hoping and asking if they will do some archers but this doesn’t seem to be happening so I wondered if anyone knows of any compatible armoured goblin archers in helmets, ideally in metal?

I know conversions/head swaps are an option but I am not great at doing these.

They’re a little bit different, and no helmets, but the Crusader Miniatures goblins have a pack of archers and might not look too out of place with a suitable paint job.

I think these are from a kickstarter and Gripping beast took over the rights. Maybe ask the sculptor if they have plans to expand. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ragnarokminiatures2/ragnarok-2/description

@Pattus - Thanks I had seen the Crusader goblins which are nice but the lack of helmets put me off. Northstar Nick said they might extend the Crusader fantasy ranges if they sell well. So they may do some with helmets eventually.

@Beefcake - I asked Gripping Beast about armoured goblin archers about a year ago and they said some archers were coming. Asked again since and got no answer so I guess they won’t be happening any time soon. I do appreciate some sculptors are as butterfly-like as many of us wargamers (including me) so the mojo has to be there.

I know that you specified metal, but have you looked at either Wargames Atlantic or Oathmark plastic sets?

All those goblins look pretty cool - especially the Ragnarok ones. I only have the GW Moria goblin and Mordor orc archers, but not sure that they really fit in with what you are looking for.

The Oathmark orcs maybe a fall back option. The new heavy infantry mixed with bow arms from the goblin set is something I may go for

The old Vendel Miniatures line has orc archers with mail shirts (code OR7), but only two are helmeted, I think.  Same general style and sculptor as Ragnarok (Colin Patten), just ever-so-slightly chunkier than the Ragnarok goblins.  Unfortunately, the current owner of the Vendel line, Thistle & Rose, has no dedicated website, just a Facebook presence, so purchasing is a bit more of a process.

Thanks for this information. I will get in touch with T&R.

Colin has sculpted Hill and Snaga Goblin archers for the Ragnarok range.  The were included as part of a Kickstarter in May this year.

They should eventually be available from Gripping Beast with the other Ragnarok lines.
Asking GB would be the best indication of if and when there will be any armoured versions.

Strangely I was looking for archers in this range the other week.

Reply from GB

“I don’t know about armoured Goblins. I have seen no greens and Colin has not mentioned them”

Got in touch with T&R. These are the figures they do. They are in packs of 8 with only a couple with helmets and they are US based I believe.

On the Ragnarok Facebook page Colin put up some pictures of a bunch of Uruks, including some archers, from an upcoming kickstarter. It’s not clear if they’re larger than the armoured goblins that are available from GB. The Kickstarter will apparently start in the next week or so and also has some very nice trolls.

Oh those look good.  For armchairgeneral, they're probably worth waiting for over dealing with a transatlantic purchase.  Disclosure, I'm in the US, and buy from Gripping Beast regularly, with no issues, but I know things can be different (and difficult) going the other way when making transactions.
