Cracking job!
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Wonderful work, on all three of the buildings  :-*

And I have to agree on the background; those trees are something else and complement the buildings well.

Any plans on turning this small hamlet into a village?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Wonderful, how do you do the basing and flocking?
I have nothing important to say so just keep on scrolling.

Cheers guys!

The base is covered in polyfilla and painted with brown paint. I’ve got a big tin of bright green flock which I glue using pva. To take down the bright green, once the pva is dry, I use really watered down brown paint and dampen the flock beforehand, to dull it down in patches. I then use static grass is various lengths/colours and a couple of flowers and dried Birch Tree seeds as leaves and call it done. Hope that helps!

The buildings are great but your groundwork is particularly impressive.

So I’ve started making a stone bridge using the same technique as the houses. I was trying to do Brig o’ Doon, but the height of the ground either side of the bridge and the steepness of the bridge for placing models, means it now just looks like any other bridge. I think I may have lost the character in it. But I’m going to continue anyways

The bridge is famous for being in one of Rabbie Burns poems. Taken from The National Trust website…..

“ ‘Now, do thy speedy utmost, Meg, And win the key-stane o’ the brig;’ [Tam o’ Shanter, 1790]

Follow in Tam o’ Shanter’s footsteps across the cobblestone bridge that spans the River Doon.

Also known as the ‘Auld Brig’, Brig o’ Doon is the original 15th-century cobblestone bridge , and it provided the setting for one of Burns’s most famous works.

This is the bridge that Tam o’ Shanter raced across on horseback, fleeing from the witches and warlocks (legend tells they’re unable to cross water). The poor mare Meg is not quite as fortunate as Tam, and loses her tail.”

I thought I’d be a cool thing to make. Here’s the bridge as it stand now…

….and this is my attempt. I tried to do the different textures of different stones that seem to have been used to repair it.

The buildings look fantastic Andy. I'm sure I've read that sliding doors have been used on farm buildings since something like the 12th C in Britain, so I think you can get by with them!

The bridge is looking good too.

So the bridge build is now complete and I’ve started to paint it. I’ve just started with a brown undercoat so far.

I’ve raised the bridge up by building a couple of embankments. I felt it looked nothing like the original when it was so small. Although in saying that, the model is now huge with the base measuring 75cm(29 and a half inches in old money! ;))
