Dead Animal Bits.
« on: 27 October 2024, 10:40:02 AM »
Morning,
I just received the kickstarter for Dead Animal Bits and put a review up on my blog if you want some more details than this post.  First a photo of the full sprue.

As you can see there are a wide variety of horns and bits.  Like most miniatures and bits there is a fair bit of scale creep in some of the parts.  Not as bad as in some GW kits but it is there.  Interestingly enough, the most realistically scaled bit are the tiny bird skulls in the photo below.

What I like about the kit is that you have three sizes for each type of horn so you just need to choose the right size horns for the head you are working on.  Each hand, head and feather is unique so there is some variety between those parts.
What I am not so fond of is that there are parts that I am unlikely to use.  As with other kits, these bits will sit in the bits box until a project comes forward where they will make an appearance.
Once they have finished fulfillment, the kits will be available through Wargames Atlantic.

That's a neat sprue.

I can imagine a few diorama builders getting excited over that esp Wild West builders.

Definitely one for the bit box.

Well, that is a bit different, like it.

And, oddly, at a swap meet today (US version of a bring and buy sort of), someone was selling a bag of metal 'road kill' bits.  No, didn't buy them, too big for me.  But would have for sure if they'd been 15 mm!

Random cuts of meat that the orcs are going to toast on a fire, at a guess.

Hands.  For some reason there are loads of hands on spikes.  I guess if you play GW games it would work.  Closer photos on my blog it you want a clearer picture.

Never seen this sprue before. A great idea and I can see myself grabbing a sprue at some point for the bits box.
