Got a fantasy gaming blog or favorites that you follow?
« on: November 02, 2024, 04:24:42 PM »
Post it here, I'm trying to build up a folder of favorites for reference and inspiration. There's of course more than enough here on the forums but I also like to support the dying art of blogging.

Irregularly updated, but always inspiring: https://www.eastern-empire.com/

Sebastian (Shas 'el Tael on the old Warseer forum, if anyone remembers) has a lot of Warhammer Quest stuff (including free dungeon tile pdfs and adventures!) as well as painting, modeling, and 40k stuff.

I have a YouTube and so can you!

Our very own Padrissimus' https://bigsmallworlds.com/

It's the pinnacle of what a fantasy campaign can be. Padre takes the Warhammer world's Tilea and makes of it a grand, sweeping narrative entirely driven by gameplay and his own GMing skills (not to mention his modelling, painting, photography and writing skills). He is also busy working on re-photographing every chapter and steadily releasing them as narrated YouTube videos:

Mentioned only due to the connection, I know YouTube isn't really a blog.

Not sure what kind of inspiration you're looking for, but my blog (in my signature) has a lot of fantasy miniatures, lots of game photos, etc.  Rank-n-flank and dungeon crawl, skirmishes, some Mordheim, etc.

mine is in my signature, I aim for at least once a month, but if I have more I have more... mainly Silver Bayonet, ECW/Renaissance folky horror bits, older posts more Doctor Who orientated.

There's fantasy content on my blog (https://ooh-shiny-complex.blogspot.com/). most recently Rangers of Shadow Deep and before that Five Leagues from the Borderlands. I seem to be posting once a week at the moment but there are often breaks because of life happening.

I also ran a fantasy campaign for about eight years on https://talomir.blogspot.com/. The campaign is over now but the blog remains.

Not a lot of fantasy on here (yet...), but I submit my blog in the signature. Now that I am retired, it is updated a LOT more often!

What a neat idea. Blogs are cool.

A friend has been running an excellent blog for many years now (boardgames, naval, ACW, 1809 Napoleonics, loaads of Sharp Practice, but also general gaming theory/scenario making ideas, and Fantasy in the shape of Song of Blades and Heroes and others): https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/

I post a bunch of Fantasy stuff on my website/blog, but it's mostly just about showing the pictures and the occasional project report or figure reviews: https://www.battlebrushstudios.com/

But the more bloggery one I do is my blog for my wargaming. Time has been at a premium the past few months, but I manage to throw out a post every now and then (they tend to be long though AND I publish them in English and German, to make up for that ;) ): http://tabletopstories.net/language/en/

Most notable Fantasy things I posted I assume are the Sellswords and Spellslingers lockdown campaigns. :) But there's loads of other things on there as well.
