IRON CROSS Rules- Does Great Escape Games Still Have a Forum?
« on: December 03, 2024, 09:41:30 PM »
I've been thinking of picking up Great Escape Games Iron Cross rules.  I've seen some positive reviews that warn that infantry shooting can be tricky.  They suggest to go to the GEG forum for guidance.   But I cannot find the Forum.   Am I nuts, or does it no longer exist?   Thanks.

It’s a while since we’ve played Iron Cross - but I remember it being pretty straightforward and good fun.

In fact I’m not sure why we haven’t played it for a while??

As to a forum - they did have one, but it was pretty quiet

My mates and I enjoy using Iron Cross rules, the interactive command control is really good keeping players involved continually and good sized games can easily be played in an evening. The Command Control will make big games take quite a while.

We have had no problems with the firing system but the rules lack some support and unit details. It only includes late war unit stats and infantry ones cover just basic infantry though there are some free downloads with variations on that.

The forum is gone there is a Facebook Page if you do that (my partner has an account so I can use that).

GEG have said a new expanded version is ‘on the cards’ to bring it into line with 1914 and 7 Days to the Rhine. These later two game expand the cool command system to other eras.

There is a custom set called ‘15mm WW2 Combat rules Version 28’ by an Australian Group of players that includes OBA, air support and much more plus 1939 - 1945 army stats.
