Graffiti on British tanks in Market Garden
« on: 26 December 2024, 02:01:08 PM »
I have a 1/72 troop of Shermans of 44 RTR intended for Hells Highway and I’ve wanted for a long time to add the chalked on messages and slogans I’ve seen chalked on by happy Belgian and Dutch civilians. I’ve not had the means to do this but my daughter put together a Christmas pack of brushes knives and all kinds of art and modelling accessories including some very fine line white pens which will be ideal. I’ve done a bit of Googling but can’t find suitable references to inspire me.  I could use a good list or some photos. I wonder if anyone can help?

Sorted. Found the link for the thread I’d seen on missing lynx re 44 RTR in Market Garden with helpful list of messages and slogans. My white pen efforts are a bit larger than I’d prefer but gives a satisfactory impression   Would still like to find something suitable for 1/72 cheering civilians !

Some of the figures in Caesar’s Partisans in Europe set might work, with a minimum amount of modification, at least for the more reserved types. None are cheering but there’s a woman with a basket of fruit, for example, and weapons could simply be removed from others. Preiser may also have some that would work, albeit in more modern clothing.

The Subuteo Ultras range.

Rioting? How quaint. There's was a fatal shooting near one of our games a few years back and one of our cross town rivals had closed door games for a few months after one of their idiots brassed up their own stadium. Makes you wonder why football isn't more popular in the Estados Unidos. ;)

Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Because they have American Football.  You should read the recent news reports as they would make any hooligan proud.  At least everyone is able to have an equalizer there.
