Baltic Independence Wars: First Battle 29Aug25
« on: 07 January 2025, 07:37:35 PM »
So my previous experience with this era was on the Back of Beyond side of things (British, Chinese), but I opted to dive into the western front of the RCW after finding a box of Wargame Atlantic plastic Germans on sale for $5 (Of course the figure count grew beyond that one box). I'm no expert on this theater, but I'm hoping my limited knowledge didn't lead me too far astray in painting my Freikorps and Landeswehr.

More units and information can be found on the blog:

Thanks!
Chris

Love it!

I’m sure there would be so many sources of uniforms and weapons that you can’t go wrong!

Great minis! And a very interesting front of the RCW, with many different troops and uniforms.  :)

Nice painting and happy to see you working again in the time period.

Isn't there an Osprey that deals with this?

There are two Ospreys that cover this, but both very much in passing.

The Freikorps one concentrates largely on what was happening in Germany.

The Baltic Wars one covers far too much ground to hope to cover any part well.

Thanks for the kind feedback, Everyone.  Yes, it's nice to back in the interwar period after all my dabbling in other eras and games (though my Fallout project is still ongoing). I have the two Ospreys mentioned here and agree they are a good start, but don't have a ton of depth.  I've had some people point me towards some other resources recently as well, so will check those out for more inspiration.

My Baltic forces still aren't complete, but I finished up some infantry and a few buildings:

As usual, more photos of the rest of my work can be found on the blog:

I am sure there are issues with this video. But I think it does a decent job of showing the ebb and flow of the campaigns.

Lovely work on the Estonians, much underrepresented in RCW gaming.

I was going to send those your way as well. But I had to do a quick post because I had to put my daughter to bed. Good videos.  :D
