@has-been
If you have email on your phone, you could send the picture to the competition./quote]

Thanks for that Mick. I have tried, even downloaded a video, & although it seemed sooooo easy
when the guy was talking me through it, I had no more luck.

Flatpack is coming round next week, & he HAS succeeded before, but (unfortunately) I will be unable to get a photo in before the deadline.
I will post some pictures as soon as I can.
Good luck to all those remaining. :)

Mine is finished, painted, & I've even managed a few pictures... BUT
I still cannot get my camera (phone) & Computer (Chromebook) to talk to each other.
This is despite the help of several (more tech-savvy than I) individuals.
If it can't be fixed soon, I will have to withdraw. I wasn't expecting to win. or even
get through round one, still it would have been nice to be in it.  :-[

Happy to walk you through sending it. I can also create a dropbox folder for you to upload via your web browser.

I've commented on  most build threads individually bit would like to say I'm, once again, blown away by the imagination and skills of fellow LAFers.

It almost seems a shame for them to be compared and voted on.

As far as I'm concerned we're all winners.

Corey

I thank you for your kind offer, but to me you are already talking an alien language. lol
I am so useless with all of this kind of stuff that it will take someone doing it while I write
down a crib sheet for the next time. Flatpack has drawn the short straw. :D

Our usual rule about painting WIP photos is that they're OK to show once the actual contest has begun, correct?

Been a couple of years since my last BSC participation...

Excellent, thanks for clarifying. I shall plan photo editing, blog posts, and such accordingly.

Round one photo sent earlier today, btw.

I'm still painting. There is a lot of stuff I have to do the old way, with a brush  o_o
It's quiet possible that I will send in the picture really close to the deadline. That's assuming I can finish it in the next 5-6 hours and can get up early enough to make some pictures, edit it and send it in.
So back to work lol

Just submitted my photo.

The trouble with big projects like this is that all sorts of other ideas pop into my noggin so I can finally focus on them  o_o 8)

Good luck everyone!

I just sent in my photo, though I'm not sure I'm in time or not  lol

However while the painting is in a state where it could be considered done and table worthy, it is a very basic job (everything is painted, used washes, there are some highlights, and did some freehand as well, but that's about it). I still intend to do work on it as I want to add some chipping here and there and would like to try some oil wash techniques.
What I want to say is, I don't consider the painting done and if this means, by the rules, that I didn't finished in time, I'm okay with that.
On the other hand if my entry is eligible to vote on, I will not paint it further until the competition is done.
I know this is a not-that-seriuos competition and we bent the rules a bit before, but I like to be honest about these things and follow the rules (I'm just not sure about them in this case  :) ).

Edit: I sent the pics to here: buildsomething2024@gmail.com. Is this the correct mail address?

Not sure on rules interpretation but I'd rather people be in than out.

By my calculations I think you made the cut off with about 30 minutes to spare but I could be wrong.

Yep, that's the correct email.

I agree with ST - better in than out  :P - even if the painting is nit finished. If you intend to take different photos for later rounds I don't think you should continue painting until afterwards though.
