Anyone worth their salt quotes Bob Ross.  Looks like you have worked out a good plan and it is nice to see something other than right angles.  i never managed to move past that point.   lol

The original image I had has morphed slightly over the past week as it felt what I made would nit fit easily with the other terrain I've got; I want a slightly dilapidated forest cottage/hut that looks like it's erupted from the ground - as such the legs will need to be either reworked or replaced and, at the moment, I'm not quite sure where I'm going with it.

In amongst those of you can plan, measure, cad/cam and cut straight exist a few who just chaotically problem solve each stage, hoping what's done in previous stages doesn't hinder the latter too much.

I'm firmly in camp B.

Windows made from food cartons are best fitted with tape so long as you're covering them later - cross pieces from cardstock as its nice and easy to work with

Foam sheets are great building for flexible shapes but not for other things, rigidity being one of them.

Coffee stirrers are great for adding rigidity but don't lend themselves to curving around a building. I know I could have put them upright but my minds eye build had horizontal planking.

I first tried thick card with the planking lines and wood textured carved in but it looked awful and didn't bend well.

Finally settled on thin card, textured to look like wood then cut into planking and glued on - this is quite a time consuming process that I will never do again!!!!!

I've also decided that I want an outbuilding accessed by a path and an upstairs that is not seen or accessed in the build, except by the presence of dormer windows sticking out of the thatch.

So there's a few more bits to plan before I can build - then just the interior decoration and furniture to build before painting it all.

In the first pic I thought it was going to be a bit flimsy but it looks pretty solid now and works well with the legs.

I do like the rounded walls.  Your planking worked out very well.  Sorry to hear it was a pill to do as it does look solid.

You could add clumps of earth, roots and whatnot to the legs, so it looks like it was sitting for a long time buried in the dirt under the house.

We are definitely thinking along the same lines.

Here's today's greenstuff and milliput work.

Very neat idea.  It will really bulk up the legs and add some visual interest.

Love the legs! It is exactly what I was hoping to do in a smaller size for a walking droid or bot...

I will file away your excellent take on it in my mind for future projects!  :D

Thank you, here's the next instalment.

Greenstuff and milliput work on legs completed, smaller roots to be added when remainder of the leg section is completed.

I have also added the path to the outhouse in tongue depressors with foam sheet stonework carved with pencil.

Outside toilet will need to be painted before I add the final wall.

Outside toilet with wall stuck temporarily in place and roof on.
