I don't have a 3D printer but I know a guy I can ask for some stuff if needed. However I don't like to work with resin, I try to avoid it If I can.

I will keep that in mind when I get back to the carriage project.

On the other hand I had some progress with my new idea.
I had this thing lying about for more than 20 years now.

I always wanted to use it as a base for a flying boat for my sky pirate figures, but as I don't play anything in the pulp genre (because of a lack of opponents) I never got around it.

I do want to play though, so this is a good opportunity to get started. Beside building the boat I will try and finish the painting on the Artizan Sky Pirates and do the Pulp Alley figures as well.

I started with cutting of the top part.

This got me a good base.

I drew the basic layout on piece of cardboard to see the proportions. There will be a gunnery position on the bow, and the helm will be at the stern.

I plan to do a raised cabin, but I will not detail it internally.

The original idea was to make it an outrigger type thing, mostly to support the big computer fan I planed to use as the propulsion system.

But I couldn't figure out a good way to add the fan. Also I found some old model propellers in my bitz box and decided to go with two engine pods.

I did some detailing and choose two thread spools as the base for the pod.
However I can't decide if I should go with a bigger or a smaller version.

I will try to make some pics with the pods next to the hull tomorrow to give a better look of the two versions.
Until I decide on how to proceed with these I will work on the hull.

Everything is better with airships.  Nice work so far.

Thnaks.

I'm still undecided on the engine pods, so in the meantime did some work on the hull. I will post pics tonight.

My hobby place got really messy while I was figuring out what to do, so I started today's hobby time with some cleanup.

I doubt it will hold long though  :D

I did some basic work on the structure. Nothing is glued yet.

The piece of tube at the bow fits right into the hole I cut out for the gun position. I'm thinking about making a removable turret thingy out of it with a bigger gun.
Also I think I will cut of about 2 mm form the trapeze ribs of the upper structure. I did not account for the thickness of the plastic card and the sides are too close for the edge for my liking.
The floor at the stern section will be below the rim of the ship, so I started to add some support for it.

It should offer enough support.

Also I got some bluetac and put the engine pods next to the ship.

I still can't decide... o_o
My other problem is should I add some kind of sail or try to do an airship balloon?

If I clean my desk, I can't find anything.  It is counterproductive.
