Battle of Cerignola - Devon Wargames Group
« on: 18 January 2025, 09:32:17 AM »
With plans for this year to include some battles from the Italian Wars at club, one of the first games to feature in our first meeting for 2025 was a refight of Cerignola 1503.

If you would like to know more then just follow the link to the club blog.

How well does Swordpoint work for Pike and Shot wargaming? I got the 1st edition rulebook a few years ago for medievals but haven't touched it since then. If it can be stretched to the 17th century I'd like to give it a try.
No battle plan ever survives first contact with the dice.

Great looking game.  :-* Cerignola is one of the most interesting battles of the Italian Wars and a real turning point as Gonzalo Cordoba changed tactics after his defeat at the Battle of Seminara (1503).

I would be very interested in hearing about this too. Were any tweaks necessary? How did the large pike blocks fare?
