Captain Darling Heads to Ol’ Blighty Again Tips Wanted
« on: February 01, 2025, 03:09:23 AM »
Hey All!

I’m heading back to Ol’ Blighty this June (clocking up visit number 11 to the UK since 1985 I am getting old!), it’ll a short trip this time to get in some cricket at Lords a venue I’ve never been to a game at before! I’ll be in and around London from June 8 to June 21 and will be at Lord’s for the ICC World Test Championship Final between June 11 and 15 if the South Africans can hang in for the full five days 😁!

The good news is this trip I’m travelling solo no ball and chain woo hoo. Thought I’d milk the hive mind for any places, shops or events that would be of interest to a gamer of all eras/periods in and around London outside of the usual museums etc, let me know your thoughts I have 8 days for snooping around.

I found the below list of conventions in June…

Enjoy! Went to the UK/Europe last in 2023; London, down south to Bovington, and then over to Dublin.

Didn’t go to any gaming stores this trip, but there was a smallish one in London on the wrong side of the Thames I think. It has a mail order business, too. Near a tunnel/train that feels a bit stabby if I remember.

And isn’t cricket a 5 day game, anyway? Feels like it.  lol
