Stormcast Eternals Army - Update: Part TROIS!

Hello, friends. How do we do on this lovely Friday?

Here's a bunch of Stormcast Eternals I painted over the past 2 weeks.






































Yup, that's it. Done everything within the very tight deadline. Not pictured: 10 painted figures I was asked to touch up a litte (which is always excruciating) and base, plus 9 more figures painted by somebody else which I also got to base.

It was a wild ride, as usual with those Stormcast Eternals. I may allow myself to take the weekend off this week. Maybe I even get to play something, let's see what the family and the heat have to say about those plans. Have a lovely weekend!

@Pattus Magnus: Cheers, he very much is. "Much better than in the photos!". Certainly better than the other way around. Also: they look good on a gaming table too. That's always the goal: Make'em look nice on the table and close-up. I once listened to a thing on the radio about how advertising posters (to be hung on the road and such) are designed; they have to have an attractive look from afar to draw in the viewer and then they have to look attractive closer-up to get the message across. These two things aren't the same thing; it's two different things which have to be brought together. I found that this is a thing that translates to miniature painting. Or maybe it doesn't and I just paint the little toy soldiers halfway decent for gaming.

@armchairgeneral: Same here, and what I know about the game makes me think that I got a ton other fantasy rules sets on the shelf already. I do like that griffon though!

@Ash: thanks very much! Very much appreciated indeed; it's very nice to hear that sorta stuff.

@syrinx0: Cheers! I tried, but then I realized I lacked a bunch of essential bits for that, so instead I built some of my own stuff and painted a bit of it (Empire mortar https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=149061.msg1924436#msg1924436 ). That was a lovely experience. I also glued a whole lotta 20x20mm magnetic foil things to the bases of the Empire figures I got done already, which is not a lot of fun. But somehow even the most meaningless stuff I do on my own figures is instantly more fun than on figures I SHOULD be doing.


Got a whole bunch more AoS Stormcast Eternals figures again already. Bunch of which being of the "could you quickly do those until the tournament in early August?" kind. The schedule-shattering kind. Like 80% of these AoS figures already. But it's okay, by now I got a recipe.

Wow, those guys look really great! I was never drawn to the Stormcasts (I wonder if I would have gone for Age of Sigmar if they had gone with a different army/group as the principal force? Or maybe just a different paint-job, more like yours!), but you make them look really cool!

Heyhey, tiny change of plans.
.) figures to be done for that tournament changed three times since I last posted on here
.) tournament was changed from August 8th to "one this weekend, one the next weekend".

Tournament playing life must be exciting. Like a never-ending square dance with the caller making up new figures all the time. Apparently there was a new edition, followed by a slew of points values changes. Oh well. I aim to please.

Great work. My 'old man' eyes are having a bit of trouble seeing them on that black background though :-)

@Basementboy: Thanks very much! Yeah, I gotta colour the leafs by hand, but it's got a certain striking look. Btw, this is the first project I'm using these leafs on; it's birch seeds as far as I know, available in natural colours and absolutely lovely. Highly recommended.

@pixelgeek: Yeah, you're completely right there. I got this new black background and for once it's working, so I've been using it lately, but with these black-armoured dudes especially, it may not be the most clever background. Here's another shot, with white background:
