15mm Figures for Spanish American War
« on: 11 February 2025, 02:21:44 PM »
I’m filling in a collection of 15mm Colonial figures I purchased last decade.

I’m looking for currently available 15mm figures for the Spanish American War, specifically for Cuban and Spanish forces.

Also happy to take any suggestions for manufacturers of other 15mm colonials as I work my way through the collection.

Thanks in advance.

Only existing range I can think of is the one from Virtual Armchair General:

Not spectacular figures but workable, probably help with a better paint job.  But you can do both Cuba and Philippines with their figures.  And hunt around for figures for The Wind and the Lion, too - they have them.

Alas, the long gone range from Falcon was better.

Thanks!  I don't need too many.  I may just proxy them if the figures aren't that good.

Well, count me mystified, never seen that use of probity before and no idea what it is supposed to mean in this context.  Perhaps a typo?  lol

I think QRF has a 15mm range for this.

Yes, the old Freikorps 15 range. It’s a bit of a mixed bag. Some of it is great (e.g. the American personalities) & some’s not. Some models are noticeably smaller than others. The Cubans & the dismounted US cavalry, for example.

That's because QRF incorporated old FK figures into what was a new bigger figure range.  I'd stick to the newer figures.

FWIW, all my figures were purchased from Freikorps years ago.

You won't have the new figures then. I quite like the FK old style. Currently their Franco-Prussians are about half old and half new.

I have the old ones. They don't really match the new.

I’ll check the qrf/fk too.  Thanks.

Ah, proxy, not probity.  Makes so much more sense now.   :D

Right!  ;)  I’ll watch that spell check more closely going forward.   I can’t recall ever using probity in a sentence before much less in a sentence about toy soldiers.
