TTCombat container ship
« on: February 22, 2025, 02:59:07 PM »
Been working on this the last few weeks as I find time.  Finished up weathering the containers this morning.

I have some furniture on order and will add a chart table to the bridge, and some beds/lockers/small workshop area to the other deck when it comes in.

Not the best model, laser etched lettering is really bad for example, but I think it will look good on the table. I also had to add hinges to have functioning doors. I'll use it for modern, near future and apocalyptic skirmishing.  Have some RHIBs and other resin boats on the way as well, and some off shore oil rig terrain to assemble and paint for some ocean mayhem at some point.

Model was not designed to access lower deck and roof on bridge needed to be adjusted to allow easier access as well, but I did figure out how to assemble ti to allow access to both areas pretty easily.

Looks great, seems like that would be fun to game on.

That looks great! I’m glad to hear that you were able to make the interior accessible, it’s one of the things I have wondered about that kit. Way more useful with the interior in play for games (taking the bridge seems like a key thing for scenarios).

Thanks.

Interior use is a big deal for me.  Upper structure now pulls off.  I'm going to add a couple interior walls and furniture to that lower area.

The roof of the bridge got a couple tabs cut off that fit into the front face of the bridge, and a couple blocks put on the upper wall for the roof to rest on since the tabs were no longer there. It comes right off easily now.

I have the same model - I like how you are doing yours. I was lazy and didn't carve it up to access all the sections, unfortunately. Still, it looks good on the tabletop -- as will yours, of course!  :-*

Nice boat.  Just screaming to have a Marine Maritime Safety Unit secure it... :D

Harlow 1st Reaction force has Secured the Ship. They need some fast boats or VTOL to land on the ship.  ;)

I like the graffiti.
I use white gel pens for mine, I find it easier to 'write' than with paint brushes.

I use acrylic brush tip markers. I’m too poor a painter to attempt this with a brush.  lol

I use Micron pens that I get from the local craft store for small details (like patterns on clothes or tattoos). For big mural type graffiti, I simply create it in Photoshop, print it out, and glue it to the side of the building, wall, whatever...!
