In an ideal world, there would be a separate pilot figure that can have a magnets attached to the figure?s back and the seat, to allow both piloted and empty use?

Well, yes. Except that I can just see a bulky harness on the seat so that'd have to be replaced for a start. Maybe the seat/cockpit area could be magnetised, if that's what you want?

Yeah, a magnetized cockpit module set would be an effective way to get the versatility.

Another new vehicle due at Salute next month, this one a small grav sled with both military and civilian applications (although fusion powered grav vehicles are probably pretty high-end equipment for most backwater colonies).

Lovely detailing on the controls.

I feel like climbing in and out of that snug, equipment-filled cockpit might present some difficulties, although I guess you're meant to step in and out on those rear corner stowage bins(?).  Pity there's no boot prints to go with the rest of the weathering.  You're also going to have to handwave away the lack of a windscreen and (in inclement weather) a top with some technobabble about the grav field producing a wind/precipitation-blocking bubble of force.

I prefer the grav sled to the buggy :) . It's a nice little vehicle.

I am fine with either, assuming I could work out a pintel mounted weapon on the back. Cosy, but I have an idea or two...

I likes it too!

What's the price point?

If it's not too much I may get 3 for convoy purposes, they will still probably be cheaper than 1 plastic vehicle from GW  :o lol

Unknown as yet, release is at Salute in April.  Guess we'll know then.  It is probably a very safe bet that three of them will be cheaper than any GW vehicle box though.

That grav-sled is an interesting model - I have a 15mm Brigade grav-apc (PacFed Wombat, I think) and I think it used the same base plate, or very similar. It certainly looks PacFed at any rate!

Yeah, it's literally the same vehicle in a new scale.  There's a 6mm version as well IIRC.  The sculpts vary in detail but not overall look.  Brigade does that with a lot of their stuff.

I know and it's a good idea for a faction to have a consistent, specific look to all the vehicles. I was just trying to work out if the model was reusing the 15mm wombat base plate or if it was an all-new type.

assuming it goes fast enough to require a windshield...

A transport vehicle that moves at walking speeds all the time isn't my idea of useful.  :)
