I bought them on Amazon Prime.

They were okay, but it was cancelled after season 2, so don't get too invested in the characters  :(

I suppose getting to season 2 is the reason it is not on Channel 5...

I found them so-so, but not played the games that much and am not invested in the Halo universe to say if it was accurate or not. I do recall though seeing an article in Mac format circa 1996 talking about the game and it being a Mac exclusive, not sure what caused the change.

As a series about the Halo characters and world it is dreadful, a real wasted opportunity.  As a generic sci-fi adventure it is watchable but not especially good.

If you are a fan of pre 343 Industries Halo you will find it frustrating, both in characterisation and storytelling. Typical modern Hollywood, it is to the original what Rings of Power and Wheel of Time are to their sources, second rate agenda driven dross.

If you are looking for a Halo fix, "Forward unto Dawn" which is free to watch on Youtube is far better.

Being bought by Microsoft might have something to do with it.

I bought a copy of the first PC version in a two for £10 offer when I got my XP machine. It is still in its wrapper.

It is weird that only the Spartan edition of the Mantic board game has non-Spartan figures.

If you are a fan of Halo, as noted above, it is absolutely awful.  Cortana lobotomizes the Chief, who spends 95% of his time out of armor (which nullifies one of the key points of Halo, you are never supposed to see the Chief's face so that you can imagine him as anyone).  Toss in a completely pointless love story and the Covenant actively working with a human to activate forerunner tech....blech.

Outside of that, the CGI is mid level.  Nothing great, but nothing too horrible.

I was ready to quit well before the final episode of season 1, but my wife wanted to get to the end.  I couldn't finish the final episode, and walked out and let my wife finish it.

As a fan, I couldn't stand it.  My wife, who is not a fan, gave it a C-/D+.

One thing I forgot to mention is that there are a lot of Covenant characters talking to each other in their own language. These had subtitles in season 1, but they stopped supplying them part way through season 2. It got very frustrating having CGI characters talking for five minutes in a Klingon-like guttaral language, with no idea what was going on.

I did try turning on the subtitles for the show. However, they didn't apply to those speeches, and the most they helped was saying <GRUNT> when one of the characters grunted :?
