6th Chevau-leger Lancers
« on: 23 March 2025, 10:39:37 AM »
28mm Warlord miniatures chevau-leger lancers, the figures are ok, but a few details are a bit soft. No plumes are in the kit for the elite company so I added plumes from the Bavarian Victrix set. The officers horse had to be pinned as it is particularly soft metal and snapped off at the hocks. Cut off sword hilts for those armed with swords.

I painted the regiment in red pantaloons, however further research in Dawson it seems only the elite company wore them. I have elected to use the supplied trumpeter rather than one with a czapska as described in Dawson also. I only placed lances in the elite and first company, however Dawson suggests the entire regiment had them at Waterloo, although mine are built for 1813-14 campaign.

3rd Sqaudron completed, more coming

Cheers
Matt

Nice work! Sorry about the troubles with the metals, I?ve purchased a few from their Roman range and never had any problems. Hopefully this won?t be a recurring experience for you!

It?s on the whole four officers I have, I pinned them in the hocks and front leg. The metal horses are too heavy for the sculpts.

I have a lot of the Roman?s and have had similar problems with Gaul cavalry also.
