28mm Elf mounted bowmen

Any suggestions for elf horse archers apart from GW?

I know there is one in the old Grenadier wood elf range, anyone know of any others?

Kitbash Oathmark sets?  I don't know how their cavalry are set up...but maybe arm or torso swap between some of their kits?

In plastic, you could kitbash the Oathmark elf cavalry with bows from the infantry sets without too much trouble - might want to cut the waists and rotate for more credible shooting poses. Also, Victrix have a few horse archer sets that could work with head swaps ? there are the Scythians, Late Romans and medieval Islamic sets.

In metal there are one or two Tom Meier sculpts from Ral Partha.

James Morris kitbashed some by mixing Victrix Normans with parts from the Oathmark infantry set, and they turned out well. There are some pictures and a description of the process in his blog, here: https://mogsymakes.net/2023/01/21/elf-riders-for-middle-earth-a-tale-of-plastic-putty-and-3d-prints/

Thanks gents. James Morris and Graham Green have done superb jobs on converting elves, but I am not a modeler and can't be bothered messing about with plastic kits.

Byrthnoth: do you know which range they are in. I had a quick look at Ral Partha Europe but didn't see them.

I found a couple on the Ral Partha Legacy site:
https://ralparthalegacy.com/collections/elves/products/50-0085-48-0504
https://ralparthalegacy.com/collections/elves/products/50-0052-48-0501

Also, the Thunderbolt Mountain elves have open hands, so you could have them carrying bows, but they?d have them in their right hand so it?s not ideal.

Nice models, but I suspect those Tom Meier sculps will be far too small. Most of my elves are later Grenadier and Ral Partha 28mm ranges rather than the early 25mm.

There are also the new Hobday and Hicks Elf Cavalry models including horse archers sculpted by Paul Hicks.

There are two in the Grenadier High Elf range, also.  Although they look like headswaps of the same figure:

There are two (one of which I think you have) in the ex-Grenadier range from Forlorn Hope (they're available individually too):

I can't see a bow on the sword-wielding figure, but he certainly has a quiver (a bow would be easy to glue on if the quiver isn't implication of archery on its own).

There are also three other mounted figures among the wood elves: Essex makes various bow cases and quivers that could be glued to their saddles.
