We keep moving forward. This time it was the turn of the motor pool of our soldiers and insurgents on the battlefield.
I grabbed a few SUVs and pickups to be part of the Iraqi insurgents. Of course, they were diecast vehicles and needed a bit of weathering to lose that brand-new look.
In these photos, we see the before and after of the weathering process.
These types of diecast vehicles are great for trying out weathering techniques, because if you go a bit overboard, it's no big deal since it's just a toy car that cost you around €3.

the Land Rover is a great example of that excess I was talking about when you go a bit overboard with those weathering techniques:

However, we've already managed to get a few technical pickups for our Iraqi insurgent side.
The Ford Raptor already came with that weathering, so it was a win-win, I didn't have to do absolutely anything to it, mostly out of fear of messing it up.
Here we see how it looks when we put a heavy machine gun on the back.

On our soldiers' side, I already had a 1:43 scale diecast Humvee from the Victoria brand, but since that didn't seem like enough, I decided to get exactly the same one again.

And thats all for today.
What´s next?
I've picked up a diecast LAV25 for my marines, and also a 3D printed M2 Bradley, i´m just waiting for them to be sent.
From the seller's photos, the Bradley looks like a misprint. It was practically free, though I'll have to check the scale once it arrives. It seems like it should be the right scale, but you never know. Anyway, for the price I paid, I can just use it as a paperweight.
I'm also waiting to get two turrets printed for the Humvees, as well as a ZSU23 for the insurgents.
And in the meantime, I'm still painting insurgents...
