UVS: Civil War - Western Forces HMMWV Weapons Carrier 21/04/2025

 Civil War was a 2024 film written and directed by Alex Garland set in a dystopian future.

The film follows four journalists travelling across a country riven by civil war.

One of the secessionist movements is called Western Forces.

This is a Western Forces HMMWV weapons carrier fitted with a protected turret and M2 HMG.




Have you spotted the mistake?


While I was building this, I very carefully checked the turret would not strike the smoke discharger.

Forgetting the gun shield is forward of the turret.

The gunner'll just have to elevate that 50-cal a bit.  No worries.  It does look good, though...

I wouldn't worry too much, these things happen. The prototype BMP2 had the same problem so the Soviets just welded a 'bump' in the turret ring that would elevate the cannon over the obstruction. There's always a work-around!
