The Army of Augustus The Fat: WAS/SYW Saxons
« on: April 22, 2025, 02:37:19 PM »
At long last, I've made a start on my 'proper' Saxon Army.  The Saxon Carabiniergarde and the three Chevauxleger Regiments who fought alongside the Austrians during the SYW have been in my collection for 30 years, so it's about time I added some infantry and artillery.  My immediate goal is the Saxon Auxiliary Corps that escaped Prussian service and then fought under French command from 1757 onward.  Once that's done I'll expand it with more infantry, cavalry and artillery to enable the battles of the War of Austrian Succession to be fought.  Anyway, here are a couple of blog posts about 'em:

Gotta love the Saxons.  Colourful uniforms and lovely flags.

Great job.

Thanks fellas!

Yeah, I suddenly realised a few years ago that units look far better with a pair of flags (where appropriate).   :D
