New Eureka Line: SYW Saxons
« on: 26 May 2010, 01:03:52 PM »
I have no need for another army, but these are lovely!

It seems fairly comprehensive, they even have dismounted light cavalry types skirmishing! I'm thinking some of the musketeers might find their way into my F&I provincials with just a tiny bit of modification.

Nice figures. I wonder how they compare with other brands size wise?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

I'm betting they match the French Rev and other Age of Reason lines they have done in recent years. Very compatible with Conquest and other "slimmer" 28mm ranges.

They do. Same sculptor, Alan Marsh. Very impressive figures. For some reason the dismounted cav are a wee bit bigger than the foot. Of course the range is new only in the sense that they've been officially released. Been available through Eureka for the better part of 18 months- 2 years now.

I cjecked eureka's site for more photos etc.
the range is superb and almost complete.
It even includes some musicians ,too!

I said almost complete, because to my taste the range lacks a couple more musicians, a bandmaster, cymbals and large drumm!
maybe some more civilian types of the era, too!

What's wrong with the Fred the Great, Voltaire, JS Bach and string quartet they released last year?

Probably they will be officially released later!

Just for you: http://www.chronofus.net/php/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=269

and: http://www.chronofus.net/php/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=125

Different period but you'll probably like the civilians in the vignette piece here: http://www.chronofus.net/php/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=268 (about half way down the page)

You probably missed these too: http://www.chronofus.net/php/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=253

These are great, I was looking at putting together a force from Saxony when I get round to collecting some SYW stuff. Saxony uniforms are IMO some of the most striking, ok not so much the line infantry as they're just white like Austria, but the rest are really colourful and I reckon would be great fun to paint.
