Cheers from Germany
« on: May 03, 2025, 09:11:38 PM »
Hello, I'm Marco from Germany. In the past I have lived for 1,5 years in the UK and I really miss the wargames-club-culture you have got over there. Played more games in those 1,5 years than in 10 years in Germany.

I play historical stuff - ancients, dark ages, WW2 and (fairly) modern warfare, using mainly TTS and Crossfire. I would like to get into O'Group and Spearhead. Recently picked up wild west shootouts again, using adapted trench crusade rules.

I've come here because the german forum I was on, is more or less dead. It seems people moved on to FB, Whatsapp or whatever. But I like forums and I also like the british take on wargames. So I guess, I might be right here.

Greetings sir!

Welcome to the LAF! Potentially (if not officially) the nicest, most creative and supportive hobby space on the net (I also don’t do Facebook - you will be in good company). Looking forwards to seeing what you’re up to - and there’s always lots of inspirational threads covering your interests. Trench Crusade as a western? Interesting.

Thanks for joining us! I hope you enjoy it here as much as we do. Are there any particular game rules that you like using?

As written in my introduction: I really like To The Strongest.
I do like Crossfire.
And I would like to get into O Group and Spearhead.
Also interested in the Zulu war. But think a board game or a table top campaign with strategic elements would make more sense for me than the usual colonail rules.
With Wild West I don't care so much about the specific set of rules.
